Know Your Place: Local areas ranked for under-26s

For the past few months, BBC Newsbeat and the BBC Data Visualisation unit have been working on a big project called Know Your Place. Its main aim is to let under-26s know what their local area is like for things such as rent prices, going out and mental health services. Users can also select their preferences and see what areas would be good for them to live.

The story was covered in two full BBC Newsbeat programmes – where we reported from areas near the top of the rankings (e.g. Bristol) and near the bottom (West Dorset).

There was also coverage from BBC Breakfast, BBC News at one, BBC Radio Five Live, many BBC local radio and TV outlets and other national news including the Independent and the Mirror.
